GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Language Versions / Sprachversionen / Versiones Lingüísticas
The German version (Deutsch) of the General Terms and Conditions is exclusively authoritative for the content of the contract and its legal interpretation. The translations into English (EN), French (FR), Spanish (ES), Polish (PL), Russian (RU), and Italian (IT) are provided solely for information and better understanding. In the event of contradictions or ambiguities between the German version and any translation, the German version shall prevail and be solely valid.
1. REGISTRATION
To register, please send us the completed registration form. The status as a student only becomes valid after acceptance by the school or an authorized representative. Upon receipt of the confirmation of registration by letter or email, a down payment must be made within seven working days to the bank account specified in the invoice; this amount will be offset against the remaining balance due. The booking contract only becomes effective upon receipt of the down payment into the account of the implementing language school. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 4 weeks before the start of the course.
2. PAYMENT
The course fee stated on the invoice at the time of registration shall apply. The participant is responsible for any bank charges incurred when paying the course fee. The booking is only confirmed upon receipt of the down payment of 200.00 Euros into the account of the implementing language school. The down payment will be offset against the remaining balance. If the down payment is not made on time, the participant cannot claim a reservation.
For bookings up to 12 weeks duration, the full invoice amount must be received in the school’s bank account no later than four weeks before the start of the course. For bookings exceeding 12 weeks, at least the amount covering 12 weeks must be received before the course begins. The remaining invoice amount may be paid in installments per course level. Each installment must be received no later than 3 weeks before the start of the course section being paid for.
3. CANCELLATION / REFUND
In the event of withdrawal, the cancellation must be made by registered mail, fax, or email.
In the event of withdrawal no later than 4 weeks before the start of the course, all payments will be refunded, minus a cancellation and administration fee of 200 Euros charged by the language school. (Cancellation of accommodation, see point 4)
If the cancellation occurs within 3 weeks before the start of the course, the total amount will be refunded minus 30% cancellation costs charged by the language school. The participant expressly reserves the right to prove to the language school that no damage, or only substantially less damage, than the asserted cancellation lump sum has occurred. If the cancellation occurs after the start of the course, the total amount will not be refunded. The full course fee must also be paid in the event of non-attendance of the course. The school is not liable for the failure of its services due to force majeure. If a student must interrupt their stay, they are not entitled to compensation.
4. ACCOMMODATION
Upon request, the schools arrange carefully vetted accommodation (host families, shared flats, hotels). There is no entitlement to a specific type of accommodation. The accommodation is available from 4 pm one day before the start of the course until 12 pm one day after the end of the course. Should the participant not arrive at the accommodation on the agreed arrival date, they must immediately notify the school or the host family. Accommodation for the first night cannot be guaranteed if the arrival time is later than 9 pm. For host families, shared flats, and hotels, their respective T&Cs or house rules apply. The school reserves the right to charge an extra fee for maintenance costs (cleaning, electricity, and damages) in the event of misuse by the resident. Termination of accommodation is possible up to four weeks before the move-in date without cancellation costs; thereafter, a cancellation fee will be charged, the amount of which depends on the respective course location and type of accommodation. The cancellation costs for accommodation will be documented in the booking confirmation and will be charged in addition to the cancellation costs for the course.
5. VISA
Proof of participation in a German course with at least 20 lessons per week is required to obtain a visa. Upon receipt of the registration and payment of the total fee invoiced and a minimum of two course levels for long-term courses, you will receive an official booking confirmation from the respective language school, with which you can apply for a visa at the German foreign representation (embassy or consulate). Should the visa not be granted in time, the German course can be taken at a later date, subject to availability. In the event of visa refusal, all paid course fees will be refunded, minus processing costs. The exact amount of the language school’s processing costs will be transparently communicated to the participant in the booking confirmation and the invoice. These fees depend on the respective course location and currently range between 100 Euros and a maximum of 220 Euros (Cancellation of accommodation, see point 4).
After arrival, the course must be attended regularly.
Further information and visa regulations can be found on the Federal Foreign Office website https://shorturl.at/PX13K
6. INSURANCE
The participant is not insured by the school, nor can they hold the school responsible in the event of an accident or theft during an activity organized by the school. Please inform yourself about the regulations regarding private insurance in your own country.
Health Insurance: If you come from an EU country, you will receive the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) from the social security office in your country. With this document, you receive free medical care for health problems, excluding dentists.
If you do not come from an EU country, you should bring your personal insurance card from your own country.
7. FURTHER CONDITIONS
The minimum age for personal registration for an adult course is generally 18 years. There is no age restriction for supervised groups. Minors must be registered by their legal guardians or custodians.
No lessons are held on public holidays.
One lesson unit always corresponds to 45 minutes.
If a course group consists of fewer people than the minimum number set for its execution, the implementing language school reserves the right to reduce the number of lesson units. The exact minimum number of participants and the associated reduction in hours can be found in the language school’s current price list/course description.
The school has the right to exclude students whose behavior disrupts the normal course of lessons.
8. JURISDICTION
