Ready for the big adventure?
Summer camp is often the highlight of the year for children and teenagers – and a German summer camp takes it one step further: it combines the feeling of being on holiday with real learning success in a playful way. Proper preparation is essential so that your child can concentrate fully on making new friends and immersing themselves in the German language. With this packing list in your luggage, you can both start this unforgettable experience completely relaxed.
💡 Half the battle
Before the journey begins, packing your suitcase is the moment when the excitement really starts to build. Well-thought-out equipment not only ensures that your child stays dry in all weather conditions, but also gives them a sense of security in their new surroundings. After booking, you will receive a detailed handbook, but this checklist will help you keep track of everything right now.
Summer weather can be unpredictable. Pack T-shirts and shorts, but don’t forget a hoodie for cool evenings.
Tip: Get some fabric pens or labels from the DIY store. Be sure to label your most important items, especially your underwear – that way, everything will find its way back into the right suitcase at the end of your trip.
Sturdy trainers or walking boots are a must for excursions. You will also need comfortable everyday shoes for leisure time at camp and flip-flops for the showers or the pool.
In addition to a toothbrush and shampoo, sun cream with a high sun protection factor and insect repellent are essential. It is best to pack two towels (bathroom & lake).
Experience real fairy tales: joint excursions such as this one to Neuschwanstein Castle make our Munich summer courses unforgettable.
Well equipped for everyday camp life
A notebook for new favourite words, a small dictionary and colourful pens help to creatively record what has been learned.
Sustainability is important to us. In Germany and Austria, tap water is safe to drink everywhere and of the highest quality. With a reusable bottle, your child can refresh themselves at any time free of charge.
In Germany and Austria, carers are not legally allowed to administer medication. Your child must be able to take it independently. Please practise this with your child in good time before the trip!

FAQ: Frequently asked questions about luggage
1. How much pocket money should I give my child?
2. Can my child bring their smartphone?
Of course, mobile phones are allowed for contacting home. However, we encourage a “digital detox” experience: during group activities and lessons, devices remain in pockets so that children can truly interact with each other and with the language.
3. What happens if something important is forgotten when packing?
