German courses for children and teenagers in Munich Kastell

Age Group 14-17

Summer courses in Munich Kastell

This camp in Munich is truly spectacular: you´ll learn German in a medieval castle! A castle Burg Schwaneck was built in 1843 and has been carefully restored in accordance with the modern standards in order to serve as an educational institution.

The castle is located within Munich city, 10 km south of the city center (15 minutes train ride to city center), in a wealthy residential district of Munich, surrounded by a huge park right next to River Isar. And Munich Highlights such as Hofbräuhaus, Bavaria Filmstudios or Frauenkirche are within easy reach.

Facilities: Spacy classrooms with historical touch, 10 rooms with 4 to 5 beds, knight hall, lounge, internet cafe, bowling, billiard, playground in the park, table tennis, cafeteria.

There will be 20 lessons of 45 minutes per week. The maximum number of students per class is 12. One can start at 3 different levels: elementary (A2), intermediate (B1), advanced (B2-C1). Students will follow courses with many nationalities in one class. Camp participants come from Mexico, Poland, Spain, France, Bulgaria, Denmark, Russia, Norway, England, France, Italy, Greece, Portugal, the US any many other countries.

Leisure program and Excursions

You´ll have German classes in the morning, and after class our activity program begins: we´ll have barbecues on River Isar, play volleyball or go shopping in Munich.

You´ll get to see all the highlights that Munich has to offer! And we also show you how the region around Munich looks like, there will be weekend trips to lakes nearby and into the mountains.

In the program there are 2 activities per day in international groups: sports, games and dance near or in the castle. There will also be 1 full-day and 1 half day excursion to Munich city center and places nearby.

My name is Caitlin and I live in America. I stayed at the Munich Kastell camp for three weeks and I had an amazing time! I learned a lot of German in a short amount of time. I also made many friends who spoke no or very little english so we spoke German with each other and that helped my spoken German! I met many people from all over the world and I am excited to go to more camps in the future!
