Language school in Heidelberg

In the heart of the Neckar Valley, surrounded by green mountains and the Neckar River, lies the beautiful city of Heidelberg. The city is a popular destination for tourists from all over the world and has a lot to offer.

The language school is located in the middle of the lively center of the university city, very close to the river Neckar and the famous castle.

The atmosphere in the school is very international: the courses are attended by students from over 90 countries every year.

German language courses for children in Heidelberg

There are 20 lessons of 45 minutes per week. The maximum number of students per course is 15. Students are divided into three age groups: 6-9 years, 10-13 years, 14-17 years.

Our German courses are taught by qualified teachers. We guarantee teaching at the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference in levels A1, A2, B1 and B2.

Leisure and excursions

All courses include six activities per week.

For example: boat trip on the Neckar River, walking tour of Heidelberg, visit to the zoo, fairy tale paradise on the Königsstuhl, Heidelberg Castle, sports activities, picnic on the banks of the Neckar River, mini golf, cooking together, visit to a nearby thermal spa and more.

Entrance fees (museums, swimming pool, etc.) and tickets for boat trips are included, but no costs for public transportation.

Children are always supervised by experienced staff and accompanied to school and activities.

  • German course: 09:00 – 12:15
  • Lunch at school: 12:30 -13:30
  • Free time program: 13:30 – 17:00
  • Dinner and evening (with the host family or at the residence)

Saturday

  • Free time program: 12:30 – 16:00

Leisure program:

  • Monday: Heidelberg city tour
  • Tuesday: Sports; open-air swimming pool
  • Wednesday: Water playground at the Neckar
  • Thursday: Heidelberg Zoo
  • Friday: Boating on the Neckar
  • Saturday: Departure or fairy tale paradise – theme park at the Königsstuhl
  • Sunday: Day with the host family or in the residence

Accommodation and Arrival

Arrival: Sunday

Host families

  • Travel time: 30-60 minutes by public transport

The children will be warmly welcomed by the family members on the first day and will be quickly integrated into the life of their hosts.

If necessary and possible, the host family will accompany the child to school on the first day and show them the way. (Daily accompaniment from the host family to the school and back can be booked separately).

The host family offers single room with half board, i.e. breakfast and dinner, from Monday to Saturday and full board on Sunday. The children will have lunch in the school cafeteria from Monday to Friday.

Our host families can be single people, couples with or without children, professionals or retired people.

When choosing a host family, we pay special attention to the fact that they are open and friendly and that they speak High German at home. We have been working with most of the host families for years. All host families are visited regularly by our staff.

 

You will receive the address and contact details of the host family about 10 days before arrival.

Transportation is not included in the price.

Children can be picked up from the airports and train stations on Sundays between 09:00 and 24:00.
