The host family is the heart of the Augsburg programme. Outside of lessons, your child speaks German in real everyday life: at breakfast, on the way to school, over dinner.
All our host families are carefully selected, personally visited, and regularly checked for warmth and safety. On the first day, the family accompanies your child to school.

How is supervision organised outside of lessons?
Your child stays with a host family that we have carefully selected and regularly visit. All families are vetted for warmth and safety. In addition, there is a 24/7 emergency contact available for both parents and child.
Is there also a day camp without overnight stays?
Yes – for families who live in the area or prefer their own accommodation, a day camp without overnight stays is also available. Just ask us for the details!
How does my child get from the airport to Augsburg?
The nearest airport is Munich (MUC), approximately 30–40 minutes away by train. On request, we can arrange a transfer service directly from the airport to the host family.
What language proficiency level does my child need?
We offer courses from A1.2 (beginners with slight prior knowledge) to C1. Before the course begins, all participants take a free placement test and are placed in the right group. There are no courses for complete beginners with no prior knowledge.
Will my child receive a certificate?
Yes, all participants will receive a certificate of participation at the end.
What happens if we have to cancel?
Our cancellation policy is fair and transparent.
Up to four weeks before the course begins, the cancellation fee is €50.
