At Burg Schwaneck, your teenager will experience summer in one of Munich’s most spectacular locations. This historic residence, dating back to 1843, has been extensively modernized and now provides an exclusive, secure setting for world-class language instruction.
- Unique Location: Situated in the majestic Isar Valley, your teenager will enjoy the tranquility of a vast park right by the river. At the same time, Munich’s vibrant city center—with highlights like the Frauenkirche or the Bavaria Film Studios—is just 15 minutes away.
- Historic Flair & Modern Facilities: Classes take place in spacious, renovated classrooms with a unique atmosphere. An internet café and cozy shared rooms (4–5 beds) guarantee contemporary comfort within the castle walls.
- A Fairytale Experience: Whether in the magnificent Knight’s Hall, or playing bowling, billiards, or table tennis, the castle offers endless opportunities to stay active and socialize with new international friends.

Progress Through Small Groups
At Munich Castle, German lessons become an interactive experience. Within the unique atmosphere of Burg Schwaneck, teenagers find it easy to let go of their inhibitions and actively integrate the language into their daily lives.
- Intensive & Effective: With 20 lessons per week, your teenager will make rapid progress. The Munich Castle program is perfectly designed to deepen knowledge while maintaining a true holiday feel.
- Small Groups, Big Impact: In groups of no more than 12 participants, our teachers provide individual attention to every student. This personal approach ensures your teenager is actively engaged at all times.
- Focus on Communication: Our goal is spontaneous and confident speaking. Through targeted interaction, we effectively break down language barriers. A placement test on the first day ensures your teenager learns at exactly the right level at Munich Castle.
Please note: Courses at Munich Castle are designed for teenagers from elementary (with prior knowledge) to advanced levels. This program does not offer courses for absolute beginners with no prior knowledge of German.
Adventure & Application:
The Supervised Leisure Program
After focused lessons in the morning, the supervised afternoon program begins! We make sure there’s never a dull moment, allowing your teenager to apply what they’ve learned immediately in real-life situations.
- Daily Action: Teenagers can relax on the vast castle grounds or get active: from BBQs by the Isar river and volleyball matches to group shopping trips in Munich. Your teenager will experience all of Munich’s iconic landmarks firsthand, including the Frauenkirche and Marienplatz.
- Weekend Adventures in Bavaria: To explore the region, we organize exciting full-day excursions on weekends. From picturesque lakes to the majestic Bavarian Alps, we showcase the very best of the area. These trips are the perfect opportunity to dive into German culture and boost speaking confidence.

Sunday: Arrival by 5:00 PM, orientation, placement test, and welcome evening.
Monday to Friday:
- Breakfast: 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM
- German Course: 9:00 AM – 12:15 PM
- Lunch: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
- Free Time & Activities: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- Dinner: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Evening Events: From 7:00 PM onwards
Leisure program:
- Monday: swimming; evening: movie night
- Tuesday: half-day excursion to the Olympic Center; evening: rally in the castle park
- Wednesday: games and sports; evening: campfire on the banks of the Isar river
- Thursday: Rally through the city center of Munich; in the evening: cycling on the banks of the Isar river
- Friday: Shopping in Munich (with parents’ permission); evening: Party or visit to Bavarian beer garden
- Saturday: full day excursion to Munich
- Sunday: Departure or extra excursion (e.g. to Neuschwanstein Castle)

- 24/7 Safety & Support: Our experienced team members live on-site at the camp and are available around the clock to support your teenager. This constant and dedicated presence within the historic residence guarantees a secure environment.
- Stylish Living: Students are accommodated in cozy four- or five-bed rooms. A key advantage for privacy: every room is equipped with its own private shower. Shared toilets are centrally located and easily accessible on each floor.
- Full Board at the Castle Restaurant: A varied full-board meal plan (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) provides the necessary energy for the day. Meals are enjoyed together in the campus restaurant, further encouraging group interaction.
- Stress-Free Logistics: Arrivals and departures take place on Sundays (arrival ideally between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM; departure before 12:00 PM). If your child is traveling by plane or train, we organize secure transfers directly from Munich Airport or the main station to Burg Schwaneck on Sundays between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
Approximately 10 days before the course begins, you will receive all essential information along with direct contact details for the on-site team, ensuring a completely relaxed start at Munich Castle.
