Our school of German in Heidelberg offers a wide range of courses tailored to suit students of all ages and cultures. Students may opt to undertake a class with other students (with an average of 5-10 students), thus benefiting from the possibility of learning from fellow students. Or they may choose a course where they are alone with the teacher, thus gaining complete and undivided attention.

All course levels to be attained at our institute can be related to the generally accepted European system of references for languages, which makes them worldwide acknowledged.
The following worldwide known levels are: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2.

>> Course 20h: Intensive course with 4 classes a day
Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 12:15

This course focuses on various aspects of German, including the following:

  * Vocabulary, initially based on the minimum requirements enabling a person to get along in a German-speaking environment;
  * Grammar, including the most commonly used verbs and expressions;
  * Pronunciation and spelling;
  * Descriptive composition enabling the student to give - orally or in writing - a description of himself/herself, his course, his family members, his job etc.
  * Writing short compositions/letters.

>> Course 20+5h / Course 20+10h
The combination of the intensive German course and private lessons (5 or 10) is particularly recommended to the students who would like to make progress relatively fast.

The advantage of this offer consists in consolidating the newly acquired knowledge in the group course and individually concentrating on the student`s weaknesses related to their usage of the target language. It is relevant not only for advanced learners but also for beginners.

>> One-to-one: private tuition
Time-table: to be discussed with the teacher

This course is designed for students who want to learn and improve their level of German in a short time through undivided individual attention.

This course enables the teacher to solely focus on the individual, taking into account his/her needs and weaknesses.

>> DSH course: 4 classes a day
Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 14:30 or from 13:00 to 16:15

This course is specially designed for students who plan to study at a German University and need to pass an examination in German (called DSH).

The course includes intensive training of different parts of the exam: reading skills, listening comprehension, writing an essay on a particular topic, description of graphics, work with certain grammar structures, as well as preparation for the oral part of the exam.

Students who wish to apply for this course should have a good command of German (at least upper intermediate).

>> Groups
These are specially designed for groups of at least 10 students who wish to participate in a custom German course according to their preferences and needs. A group leader or/and teacher must accompany them (1 free place is offered every 10 students).

The group selects the course contents, the number of German lessons they would like to attend (a minimum of 10 lessons per week) plus the different types of cultural activities, excursions, lodging and transfers if required. Please ask for details!
