Our school in Freiburg offers optimal conditions for study German: small groups (3 - 12 participants) in 8 well-lit, spacious classrooms encompassing 500 square metres. All courses are taught in the "communicatve method". The purpose of this is to enable the students to become fluent in oral and written communication and understanding. We work with the principle of "one language", which means that during classes German, or the relevant foreign language, is spoken exclusively.
The classes consist of a balanced mixture of communication exercises, vocabulary and the application of idiomatic language use as well as grammar. We consider grammar only as a means to an end, not as the essence of learning a language. Besides the proved textbooks we also use authentic texts from literature and the media which have relevance to daily life (culture, politics, land, people etc).
